PPS and IO: Patient Portal - Resetting Patient Passwords

This article applies to Valant IO and the Private Practice Suite


Resetting the password of a patient

  1. Click on Persons and InstitutionsPatients
  2. Select a patient
  3. Click on Portal TabManage Account ButtonReset Password Generate New Password

The "Reset Portal Password" box will appear. After entering a password and clicking OK, provide the new password to the patient, so that they can log into the Patient Portal The patient will be able to change their password via the Account Settings Tab of the Patient Portal.


Allowing a patient to reset their own password

To Email Instructions to the patient, so they can reset their password by themselves:

  1. Click on Persons and Institutions | Patients
  2. Select a patient
  3. Click on the "Portal" tab | Manage AccountReset Password | Email Instructions to Reset Password

If the patient does not have a valid Patient Portal email address, this method can't be used.
