PPS: Credit Card Payments from Insurance Companies

In the event that an insurance company issues a credit card as a form of payment, practices that use CMS for credit card processing can log in to the CMS Merchant Login to accept the payment through their portal. Valant Private Practice Suite does not have a way to accept credit card payments from a insurance company within the EHR

The recommended workflow is to log in through the CMS Merchant Login. These credentials were given by CMS when your practice signed-up but, may have been changed by someone at your practice. Upon login users can process the payment directly through the portal. 

After the payment is processed users need to manually apply the insurance payment in Valant and save a copy of the receipt. One recommended place is under "Practice Documents" to keep a record of the payment. 

Note: The CMS login is also the credentials Valant uses for credit card processing. Updating your CMS password will inactivate the sync between CMS and Valant if Valant Support is not notified of the password change.
